Assessment 2b: Interim Resolved Design

Ana Tyrrell

The wellness centre has been designed for the gentrified population of Newtown. In the way that is caters for a vast array of activities but has been sectioned in a way that the journey through the spaces is one that does not make the user feel overwhelmed. The way in which each will interact with the building is decided by the users and what they would like to participate in whether it be for a day or an extended stay. The division of sauna and flotation pods has been created to enable different textures to be used to further enhance the atmosphere of the specific program. The large central void enables for a flow of air from the lower levels towards the upper levels and a sense of connection between the public faces in the lower levels and the more private sections of the accommodation and centre facilities.
